2. Acceptance of terms
By accessing our website or entering any competition, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in full. If you do not agree, you must not use our services or enter our competitions. We recommend you save or print a copy of these terms for your records.
3. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time, including to reflect changes in law or how we operate. We will publish the updated version on this page with a revised date. Your continued use of our website or entry into a competition after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
4. Eligibility
- You must be aged 18 or over to enter any Sortis competition.
- You must be a resident of the United Kingdom at the time of entry.
- Employees, directors, officers, contractors, and agents of Sortis Competitions, and members of their immediate families or households, are not eligible to enter.
- We reserve the right to verify your eligibility at any time and to request proof of age and identity. If you are unable to provide satisfactory proof, or are found to be ineligible, your entry will be void and any prize will be forfeited.
- By entering, you confirm that you meet all eligibility requirements.
5. Competition format
All Sortis competitions are skill-based prize draws operated under Section 14 of the Gambling Act 2005. Entry requires correctly answering a qualifying skill question. Only entries that select an answer are eligible for consideration, and at the time of the draw, only entries with the correct answer will be entered into the prize draw.
6. How to enter
6.1 Online entry (paid)
Select the number of tickets you wish to purchase, answer the qualifying skill question, and complete checkout via our secure payment process. Your entry is not confirmed until payment is successfully processed. You will receive an email confirming your entry and ticket number(s).
6.2 Free postal entry
No purchase is necessary to enter. You may enter any competition free of charge by post. Send an unenclosed handwritten postcard or letter to: Sortis Competitions, Unit 170071, PO Box 7169, Poole, BH15 9EL. Your entry must include your full name, date of birth, full address and postcode, email address, contact telephone number, the name and number of the competition you wish to enter, and your answer to the qualifying skill question.
One entry per postcard or letter. Multiple separate entries may be submitted for the same competition, subject to any stated maximum per-person limit. Postal entries must be received before the closing date and time. We cannot be responsible for entries lost in transit. Proof of postage is not proof of receipt. We will confirm receipt of valid postal entries by email within 3 working days.
Free postal entries carry exactly the same odds as paid entries and are entered into the same draw.
7. Maximum entries per person
Where a maximum number of tickets per person is stated on the competition page, that limit applies across both paid and free postal entries combined. We reserve the right to void entries that exceed this limit.
8. Competition closing and the draw
Each competition closes at the earlier of: (a) when the maximum number of tickets is sold, or (b) the stated closing date and time. The draw will take place on the stated draw date regardless of whether all available tickets have been sold. We will not extend, postpone, cancel or downgrade a prize draw due to low ticket sales.
The winner is selected at random from all entries that correctly answered the qualifying skill question, using a verifiable random selection method. The draw is conducted live on camera and/or recorded and published publicly so that the process can be verified. Where two or more entries are otherwise equal, the winner is decided by a further random draw from those tied entries.
A list of winners and their county will be available on our winners page for at least one month following each draw.
9. Notification of winners
The winner will be notified within 24 hours of the draw using the contact details provided at the time of entry. If a winner does not respond within 14 days of our first notification attempt, or if the winner is found to be ineligible, we reserve the right to conduct a redraw from the remaining qualifying entries.
10. Prizes
- The prize for each competition is as described on the relevant competition page.
- Where a cash alternative is offered, the winner may elect to receive the stated cash sum instead of the physical prize.
- Prizes are non-transferable and no part of a prize may be exchanged for cash (except where a cash alternative is expressly stated).
- We are not responsible for any costs, taxes, or duties associated with receiving or using a prize.
- Prizes will be dispatched or transferred within a reasonable period of confirming the winner's delivery details. We aim to dispatch within 7 working days of confirmation.
- Brands referenced in prize descriptions (e.g. Apple) are not sponsors of or affiliated with Sortis Competitions.
11. Ticket purchases and refunds
Ticket purchases are non-refundable once the qualifying skill question has been submitted and payment processed, except where we cancel a competition, in which case all paid entrants will receive a full refund. We reserve the right to cancel a competition in exceptional circumstances beyond our control, in which case all entrants will be notified and paid entrants refunded.
12. Fraudulent entries
We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant and void their entries where we have reasonable grounds to believe they have: used automated, bulk or otherwise fraudulent entry methods; provided false information; used multiple identities; or acted in breach of these terms. Disqualified entrants will not be entitled to a refund.
13. Intellectual property

14. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to the above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from participation in a competition or use of our website.
15. Data protection
We process entrant personal data in accordance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and our Privacy Policy. We are registered with the ICO under registration number ZC203561.
16. Complaints

17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
18. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or removed if modification is not possible, without affecting the validity of the remaining provisions.
